Christmas in paper at Printemps 2023

After telling you about the history behind the Christmas decorations at Galeries Lafayette, we want to share with you the story of the decorations at Printemps Haussmann.

Printemps Haussmann, the famous Parisian department store, transforms into a magical paper universe to celebrate Christmas 2023. Under the theme "Christmas in Paper, Wishes Come True," this year, the store invites you to dive into a poetic and committed world where paper comes to life to tell the magical story of wishes.

The unveiling of the window displays on November 9 was accompanied by the renowned actress Catherine Deneuve, revealing 11 dazzling windows, including four animated scenes that narrate the journey of enchanting wishes.

"The Call of Wishes" transports visitors into a majestic flight of winged messengers collecting wishes, while "The Processing of Wishes" presents a machinery of letters orchestrated by animated owls. "The Waiting for Wishes" creates a tableau with birds gathered above Printemps Haussmann, and "The Metamorphosis of Wishes" unfolds under the store's dome, with multicolored birds preparing gifts expressed in visitors' wishes.

This year, Printemps Haussmann has designed a stunning visual spectacle with 170,000 paper decorations, including 95 animated characters, 3.4 km of light garlands, and 170 carefully arranged Christmas trees throughout the store. This initiative demonstrates Printemps' commitment to a recycled and environmentally friendly Christmas.

The shopping center also offers a magical experience for toy enthusiasts. From board games to collectible figurines, skates, and scooters, all the latest trends and novelties are showcased in the Toy sections. Floors dedicated to Men, Beauty, Home, and Children provide plenty of opportunities to discover the perfect gifts.

To make the visit even more special, a series of animations are planned throughout the holiday season. Makeup and costume workshops, creative sessions for decorating Christmas trees, as well as demonstrations of toys and giant board games are on the agenda. These activities promise to entertain both young and old while awaiting the opening of presents.

Printemps Haussmann transports us this year into an enchanting Christmas tale, where the magic of paper comes to life in every corner of the department store. An experience not to be missed for those who want to experience the magic of Christmas in a unique and eclectic way.
