Maison & Objet - The 2024 edition

Categories : Lifestyle, published on : 9/1/24

The Maison & Objet fair returns to Paris for its 2024 edition, marking a significant milestone as it celebrates its 30th anniversary this year. As always, this event brings together creators and artisans from various fields, ranging from decoration and fashion to interior design, tableware, and gastronomy.

The 2024 theme, titled "Terra Cosmos," offers a forward-looking vision that explores the new desires of consumers seeking immersive and total experiences. The concept of Terra Cosmos highlights how raw materials, such as minerals reminiscent of lunar or Martian landscapes, inspire contemporary creations.

A Creative and Earthly Exploration

François Delclaux, curator of the What's New in Retail space, describes this trend as a tribute to "raw minerality," where massive, primitive materials, as if fallen from a meteorite, dictate the very form of objects. Publishers like Pulpo and Imperfetto Lab embody this approach, offering creations where the material, whether brutalist, iridescent, or transparent, evokes both the surface of celestial bodies and vast celestial expanses.

A Season Marked by Design and the Paralympic Games

Coinciding with an unprecedented period of urban, cultural, and tourist renovation in Paris, this edition of Maison & Objet also aligns with the excitement of the Paralympic Games season. Despite the many speculations surrounding the impact of the Olympic and Paralympic Games, Paris is ready to welcome visitors under optimal conditions. The city, more dynamic than ever, will provide an exceptional setting to discover the fair's latest innovations.

A Unique Experience Not to Be Missed

With around 2,300 exhibitors, the Parc des Expositions in Villepinte will be bustling for five days, from September 5 to 9, 2024. Visitors can explore specially designed conferences and activities, offering a glimpse into future trends in the world of design and decoration.
